ReplyDeleteIt's Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team reading your blog from my home in far away Canada.
You've made up some good questions for Dame Moncrieff. Have you ever met a 'famous' person before? It's always interesting to find out how someone came up with their unusual and creative ideas, isn't it? I suspect that Dame Moncrieff didn't expect to become famous originally. I suspect she just felt a desire to find a way to show the world that we're producing a lot of rubbish/waste and that we need to find ways to both re-use what we produce and reduce the amount we produce. That's just my guess, though.
Have you ever been to the WOW event? I know someone who attends every year and they say it's just amazing to see the fabulous outfits that Dame Moncrieff and others design out of the most unusual materials. I don't know that I'd want to wear a dress made out of tin cans or some other recyclable good, but I think it's wonderful that people are creative enough to make it!!
